Well it is not really acrylic. I have cast a lot of polyester resin in the past for making pens and wine stoppers. It is too brittle for calls so I have been looking for a better resin. I found it and this is the result. This is a combination of green and gold pearl colors.

The resin produces a blank that has properties similar to acrylic and IS NOT brittle. I will start offering some calls for sale in the near future in various colors as well as some blanks for those of you who would like to try turning some yourselves. Once I get up and running I will also cast custom colors per request.

I will be able to do translucent colors, but they probably won't be any cheaper than an acrylic blank of the same size. They may be more readilly available though since you won't have to buy a 48" stick from Delvies.

Nice material. I'd like to see a blank for it to. P.S. Thanks for the reply about the shells, be interested this spring. Unable to send P.M.s yet, but working on it. Thanks, Turkhunter
