I got up this morning & had time for a few stands. When I walked outside the wind was howling & I knew it was gonna be a tough day. On one stand I had the call set up about 50 yards out & I could barely hear it on max volume. I hit some good areas but didn't call a coyote.

On the 3rd stand I was just about ready to call it quits when I saw movement in a brush pile. I had my OLD camera with me & it sucks for long distance shots. This cat was only about 40 yards out but the pictures didn't turn out well.
At one time the cat sat down & swatted at the Scorpion with its paw, I wish I could have got that shot.

Season is out so this one got shot with a camera. Hopefully I can call her in again.

The first pic shows the cat when it came out of a brush pile.
The second pic shows the cat while it was trying to find the rabbit in the speaker! The cat hung around for 4 or 5 minutes, I tried to lip squeak it closer but it wouldn't come any closer. The camera was flashing the whole time!

Sorry for the awful pics. :rolleye:

Great story looks like you had a good time watching the cat. Glad you had your camera with you so you could share.

Born and raised in the southern highlands of Appalachia, I'm just an ol' country boy who enjoys calling coyotes... nothing more, nothing less.

Yeah Randy.........not trying to put any pressure on you though.  :nono:

During one of my last hunts this year we called a cat fairly close, but I just watched it through the scope. They are fun to watch aren't they?
Poor old chet saw me looking through the scope and thought we had a coyote coming in. He was on high alert and calling his guts out trying to get me a shot.  :eyebrownod: Afterward I think he wanted to thump me over my noggin when he found out I was just watching a goofy little bob.

Good deal Randy......all I saw today was about 4 hens with about 5 poults each, and a deer that didn't want to leave.  :rolleye:

Joe, when we shot that coyote last Thursday there was a deer in the field the whole time we were calling. She watched the show & never ran off. I guess they just get stupid this time of year.

You fellas sure know how to put the pressure on a guy. :iroll:

Hopefully this one will end up like these (from last year)  :eyebrownod:
