I took off Tuesday morning with one of my landowners on a fishing trip to chase lake whitefish.  He hadn't fished for them but once 30 years ago.  We got to the lake at 1pm and were fishing by 2pm.  We caught a few of these [I use the term we loosely as he caught only one of these in four days]

On day 2 it was so nice at 26C and no wind that it was unbelievable.  We went to the other end of the lake and found laketrout in 5 feet of water.  I have never experienced fishing like that in my life,  watching lake trout chase your hook is most fun.  there were several 20+ pounders and literally hundreds under 10lbs.

I even caught one.

We saw 2 Bull moose, 17 whitetail, a coyote and a bear came out on the shore about 500 yds away,  I pulled out a coyote call {fawn in distress] and blew it.  That bear just started galloping toward us until it got within 75yds where it stopped and woofed at us.  It then ran up the bank to a poplar tree and climbed up about 15 feet[way cool and no camera at the time] :doh2:.
I say what I think not think what I say.

Sounds like a LOT of fun.
Sure is some smooth looking water in the background there too. Beautiful  pics.
That white fish as you call it, kinda looks like a bottom feeder. Is it? Kinda looks like a Walleye in a way though too.

The white  fish holds in 10-30 feet of water in the summer at this lake but they are spawning now.  Some people call them junk fish but I enjoy catching and eating them.  We spent most of the time with the lakers on this trip because you just don't get to have fun like that every day.  Now that I'm done work till May 1 I can go back after the whitefish until the river freezes [late November].

Fishing, trapping, hunting and teaching my boy's.  Can't get any better except that the loved one would like me to fix the shower sometime before spring[preferably tomorrow].
