THO Game Calls

There are 1.3 million people in NH.  Friday morning, 424,000 of them were without power.  1/3 of the state.  Today, Sunday, still 300,000 or more do not have power.  The temps have been in the low teens to single digits at night.  Many roads are still closed.  It is, a dire situation for many families and not something to make light of.   Maine, Vermont and northern Mass also are having tremendous problems due to this storm.

If you would like to see pictures and read about the storm, you can access our local news station  www.wmur.com

We've put up half of my sons boyscout troop because those kids had no power and we did.   Our internet and cable were out, but they rented a dozen movies at Blockbuster and had a good time but most importantly, stayed warm.

The local semi pro hocly team opened it's doors for Friday nights game and gave everyone free admission so they would have something to do and somewhere to get out of the cold if they had no power.

The largest and fanciest hotel in town opened it's rooms to not only people, but their pets.  Unheard of today.

There are line crews here from as far away as Ohio working round the clock to get power restored.

A lot of times, these winter storms are over blown by the media, but in this case, it is a real event and a lot of people are suffereing from it.  Please keep them in your prayers.

Al,

That sounds like a serious situation.  Hang in there.  Looks like everyone is pulling together to see it through.

I was just watching UFC and the emergency broadcast system kicked in and the governor said 200,000 people are still without power and said to make provisions for heat tonight and if you cant to call for a shelter or assistance...my buddy hasnt had power and said they told him it might be sometime next week before it might be restored....hes got a woodstove luckily.....luckily we havent lost power once yet...fingers crossed....luckily we are youngish and tougher then jim champions spider wire but man if you have small kids or are elderly...tough times...you dont really think about power till you dont have any...
