River Monsters  premiered on ANI on April 5, 2009. Extreme angler Jeremy Wade is on the hunt for the freshwater fish with a taste for human flesh. This international excursion through the dark side of the watery depths mixes action and adventure with incredible mysteries, edge-of-the-seat chases and a battle of will between man and almost supernatural beasts that lurk in the serpentine waterways of the planet, subsisting murderously underwater and growing to truly awesome sizes. Like all the best horror movies, the images are intense and immediate, gritty and real. Wade illustrates to the viewer, like a forensic investigation, exactly how these river monsters are constructed to kill.


The previews shows him actually fishin for these HUGE fish, looked pretty intense !!!

Ohh nice!
That could ruin my little stunt of jumping off the pontoon boat all the time and hiding between the pontoons under the boat, while we drift down the channel and suck suds, until someone panics as to my whereabouts.

Jim, it showed the guy getting pulled down river by something enormous holding on the pole getting dragged along.. lmao   Like a cartoon but for real

Thats not funny, cause that does run through my mind while I'm under that boat sometimes for 30 minutes at a time.

I was waiting for the guy to disappear when he started yelling, it's gone it's gone

My Grandpa worked for Burlington Northern railroad for many years. I can remember him telling me that they had to retrieve train cars out of the river once in a while either during mining accidents or collapsed trussels.
He said that there were cats here in the Mississippi large enough for you to stand on and think it was merrily a hump in the river bottoms surface, about the size of half a box car.
