wth is this conficker worm the entire nation is all wound up about ?

Any virus threat is worth worrying about.
From what I read this thing lets itself into your system32 directory and then goes through the users accounts on the operating system and sends itself out via each users contacts.

Someone on the news this morning said that it's laying dorment on millions of machines and waiting for April 1st. They also said to test your computer, try and visit Norton or Mckafee site. If it's in your pc it wont let you visit those pages.

I can't verify that and I wouldn't visit those pages if I had to. I hate em both.

I havent read a whole lot about it though, I'm depending pretty heavily upon Kaspersky to keep me safe all though I do keep a close eye on things.

Rgr that captain, I did a few things and it doesnt appear that I have it.  I read like you, it wouldnt let you visit certain sites.

They usually put a bounty on the heads of the conspirators ?

I dont know how often the US software colossus gets in on it, but I know the government offers a bounty on a lot of them. But that's to be expected.
