Suicidal

This is probably going to be the last one for a while. My feet are just as bad now as they were the day before my operation. Doc said that I "probably" over done it and I need to stay off them for at least another month or I may end up using a cane and/or crutches for the rest of my life. Went home grabbed my rifle, call and went out and made a few stands. Saw two coyotes but they also saw me - before I saw them - as all I saw was the north end of two south bound coyotes. Drove down the two track a bit and saw a nice spot so I parked walked about a hundred yards and set out the FX3, about 10 minutes into it I noticed this little guy coming in, slow but steady. He kept walking and never stopped until about ten feet from the caller, 22-250, 55grain Sierra, ended his life. The way he came in, never stopping and walking in the open without to much cover got me to thinking that he may have been suicidal. Not near as pretty or spotted nor as big as the one I called in last week for my friend.

Looks like a great time JohnP.......Please stay off your feet for a bit as the doc says.....It sucks but needs done buddy...

The Doc knows Medicine, & you definetly know Coyotes and Bobcats. You need to listen to the doc so we can keep enjoying your stories! Goodluck& I wish you a speedy recovery !!

It's a tough itch not to scratch aint it, John? Especially when it's so handy where you live.

I think you can talk Ma into letting you camo up the truck and the hide it in the bush, then you can call from the truck.
And if not...the for your own sake stay off your feet for a while.

Woke up this morning to a cool 49, was all I could do not to grab the rifle and calls and head out

So here I sit at the damn computer drinking coffee. We have our "Squirrel Safari" planned for the end of the month. Doc said I could go as long as I remained in camp, so the guys said they would let me go along ----- and be the camp cook.

Yeah you might as well take the month off.
A cane &/or crutches will make it harder to hunt!

maybe you can get a handicap permit to hunt from a 4 wheeler, if you are on public/gov land. ?

In Tennessee you can shoot from an off road vehicle if it is turned off. Your state laws WILL vary.

Out here you need to be 100% disabled to hunt and/or shoot from a vehicle. I'm going to take my caller and rifles with me on the squirrel hunt, may be able to call something in while sitting in camp.
