Born and raised in the southern highlands of Appalachia, I'm just an ol' country boy who enjoys calling coyotes... nothing more, nothing less.

Ever notice everyone wants to kill them pythons in the everglades cuz of their impact on native species...but if you mention shooting or trapping feral cats which r brutal on wildlife the antis have a nutty

A nutty :laf:
Thats cause they justify things with their feelings and emotions. They think the ecosystem is some type of stereo.

No kitty cats this morning but I did manage these...I'm excited...I've probably got a whoppin' 5 dollar bill right here lol.  I only have a handful of traps out and they keep getting sprung by dang cats and possums.  I think I'l start calling myself The Possum Whisperer...or maybe the possum wrangler, it sounds more manly  :nono:

Feral cats can be a handful. Many yrs ago when I trapped. I had one trap left to set along a creek. I ran out of anchors. But I found a 4' 2x6 laying on the farmers burn pile. I anchored that trap to the 2x6 using horse shoe nails. Next am as I'm walking the creek in the darkness. I heard the chain rattling. I rounded a sharp bend. And about stepped into the jaws of the largest domestic cat I ever seen. Cat lunged at me over & over again. Pulling that wood 4' anchor my way on each lunge. He was huge & I gave him a wide berth. Finally I got the upper hand. I doubt even a starving coyote would've messed with him.

about the 2nd lunge would have been his last... .22 to the gourd would a settled him down...

Why would you wait until the second plunge?  Any cat we see out here in the desert is going to get dead in a hurry.
When they come for mine they better bring theirs
