Three photos of the same coyote in sequence:  stalking a rodent, leaping to grab it and then crunching and gulping it down in the third photo.

This coyote jumped ahead rather than making the high leap they tend to do in snow.   Note the white tip on the tail, a bit unusual though not rare.  Taken out the vehicle window at about 30 yards day before yesterday in the dry interior of BC.  Saw 5 coyotes and one porcupine in 45 minutes of driving, early afternoon.   I need to figure out how to run the video on this camera.  I could watch his body tense for the pounce and anticipated it, but jerked the camera when the coyote leaped, blurring everything in the picture.

Great pictures.  :yoyo: :yoyo: I hope you don't mind, but that last one is now my screensaver.

Hey, that's an honor!  Your screensaver is a compliment to me and you are welcome to use this.   It 's fun photography, not great.  I've worked with a couple of top pro quality photographers enough to know that the effort it would take me to get there is not worth it to me.  But it made me a better snapshot photographer

In that photo you chose, the coyote is bobbing his head every second or two as he crunches the little critter he caught and kind of lunges his head forward as he swallows.  I like the way his teeth show.  Glad he turned toward me to wolf the critter down!
