I am fairly new to shooting and would like to get an ar any recommendations? and why ?? my stepfather says bushmaster is good. I realize this is like asking what the best predator call is ? and is subjective . Would like some feed back . thanks

You won't go wrong with Colt, Bushmaster, DPMS, Rock River.... and I have to throw in the Remington R-15 (if you are looking for a coyote AR) which is made by Bushmaster.  These are all high quality guns with proven track records.  There are so many options to be had depending on the intended use, one can not list them all.

GunDog

THE FREEDOM GROUP, (catchy name ain't it?) is one of the largest manufacturers in the world of firearms and ammunition including Remington, Bushmaster, DPMS, Panther Arms, Marlin, H&R, NEF, LC Smith, Parker, EOTAC and INTC.

Of the five AR's mentioned here so far I've owned and shot four of them a good bit. They are all good guns with good reputations. I've been tinkering with a new one here myself the past couple of weeks that I really like and would recommend if your looking for a hunting gun. It's a shooter, check out the link to look at it and good luck with your decision.

I have a Remington R-15 VTR in .223 and have been very pleased with it.  No malfunctions of any kind and it shoots great to boot.  I think Frogman has one also.

slagmaker

I have a Stag Arms AR in the 3L configuration. Love it. No malfunctions and a darn accurate shooter. I went the Stag route due to the fact of my being a southpaw. Otherwise it was gona be either a DPMS or a Remington

Olympic is another company you may consider. Little cheaper but I have heard both good and bad from them.
Don't bring shame to our sport.

He died for dipshits too.

Ridge Runner

the skinny on AR's

not much difference, all the makers but 2 (oly and stag arms) buy all or part of the parts from a pool of vendors, then assemble. They're all parts house guns.
I have AR's from tromix, RRA, J&T distributing, and dedicated technologies they all shoot very well.

Yotehntr

I have a RRA predator pursuit. I chose it because I like stainless and the accuracy guarantee...I figure if they guarantee 3/4" MOA that was good enough for me!  With my hand loads I've been getting 1/2" MOA on 5 shot groups.  :readthis:  http://www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=229
Yotehntr calls... put something pretty on your lips

Frogman

Yes, I have the Remington R-15 vtr in .223.  I like very much.

A couple of groups . . .

It's a good coyote killer too!!
