That would be a perfect day to my way of thinking.  Good job on supplying the Easter dinner.

ok guys i know you all like stories i got alitte P Oed trying to get the pics on here im calm now so here you go.i had birds gobblin all around me this morning just couldnt call them from there hens so about 10:00 i decided to move to the other end of the farm they had guit gobblin buy this time.i was walking along the edge of the woods and i spotted 2 big toms one was struttn and 3 or 4 hens about 75 yards in the woods so i just laid down and started calling softly but they just didnt wana leave them hens they finaly eased out of sight so i decided to back out and move on and come back to that spot in a couple of hours.alot of times if you see an ole tom struttn with hens and the lead him off the hens will go sitt on there nest and theres a pretty good chance he will be back where you seen him struttin an hour or so after the hens sit.so i  came back to that spot about 12:45 it was very windy so i would only call when the wind would slack a little just some purrs an soft yeps not much.so about 1:45 here i seen that big red hed coming around the ridge he came sneeking in not saying a word he about 30 yards stopped to take a look at at my decoys and i let him have a shot of 3 1/2 mags.thats why you dont give up alot of people will go home when they guiet hearing gobbles around 10 or 11 but if you know where there at or can get one to talk when the hens go to nest there alot eaisier to call.just hang in there sit around listen for a lone gobble or get where there feeding and struttn.im not the best caller in the world (lol) so i gota use every trick i can.that one of my favorites.

Born and raised in the southern highlands of Appalachia, I'm just an ol' country boy who enjoys calling coyotes... nothing more, nothing less.
