Stop the bleeding

  Guy's I do a lot laminating of wood to make calls, a problem I have when useing white holly/ cocobola, bacote, rosewood, & the likes of oily woods is they tend to bleed over onto the white holly. I don't have a problem with the courser grits but when I get down to the finer grits the oil starts to bleed over onto the holly. I have tried to wipe the oily wood with accatone but no luck. anybody out there that can help????????. Thank's. Robert

If you're glue-ups are straight glue ups you can sand each wood individually with the grain & keep changing sandpaper between woods. Otherwise I think with the heat buildup & the fact that the sand paper can't clean itself out good enough you're gonna keep running into this unfortunatley. Have you tried the sanding mesh? It looks like the stuff you use to sand drywall.

No I haven't tried that Hamer, but what you are saying makes since. Thank's I'll try that.
