Those are cool Dale.

I am not 'up' on my owls.  Are these the ones that live in burrows?

Interesting.
I've never seen that many together at one time.

Thems good pics :congrats:.  I've never seen them together like that either.  I don't think they are burrowing owls though[As you know I've been wrong once before :laf:], as they appear to large.

Ditto about burrowing owls I've seen all being a lot shorter, little sawed-off owls, but that's in Eastern WA desert mainly.

I've never seen more than two owls in one place together, a mated pair I always assumed.

Cool pics.  I like the "horn" that shows on the leading edge wing knuckle of the one in flight.

I put a couple of pictures on the Canon forum of this owl and I got 4 responses back on it.  They said it was a short eared owl.  I got my bird book out and looked at it again and read what they said about it.  This sounds more right.  In an 1/8 to 1/4 mile there were probably 15 or 20 of the owls along the road.  I have never seen so many owls together in my life.  Thanks for replying.    :congrats: :congrats:

Edit: Did you get the tripod?

That is cool. What was the attraction, why were they all grouped up like that?

Hawks Feather

I am not real sure, but Fos' post might lead one to believe that it is because it is the start of breeding season and they are checking one another out.

No but I know which one I want.  It's just a matter of getting it ordered.
