From what I have researched soooooooooo far, I'm going to be able to buy my lil Kel-Tec online (cheaper then dirt) for a whole lot less then what some locals are asking for it. I havnt checked them all yet.

This is going to actually be the first time I've bought a firearm online...if I do it that way.  Every gun I've owned or still own, I've shopped around and bought in person.

So I'm wondering here...how much can I expect to pay a local FFL to make the transfer for me?
Is there a standard sort of etiquette that one should pay? Like there is with waitress tips or something?

I would think it would be rude to ask a competitive retailer to accept the gun for me as the FFL rather then purchase it right from them for more money in the first place. Am I on the right track with that? So I'll probably use a private local.
Of course unless it all boiled down to pretty close the same price in then end, then yeah duh.

I think the FFL's around here that do it get around twenty-five bucks. If a local new gun retailer won't do it, you might try a pawn shop.

Try this, Jim.

Go to gunbroker.com and search for a FFL in your area that accepts shipments.  The fee will be listed also.

No need to feel any obligation toward the dealer.  Its not personal.  Just business.   :eyebrownod:

Ahhh, interesting info thanks guys. And thanks for the link Semp.
I found one similar but it showed FFL dealers right here in town that no longer existed.

Your all right, Semps link found several near me and the average is around $25 bucks.
Well that puts a lot of it into perspective. There's no sense in buying the gun $25 dollars cheaper on line. :laf:

HaMeR & I got a guy here that only charges a buck or two.

HaMeR

Well he did. My last transaction was $10!!!!!!!!!!!  :argh:

Greg is a purdy good guy for real.

$25 for just filling out some papers & calling them in is good business for that shop owner. It just takes a few minutes & I doubt any FFL holder would say no to that money for those minutes. Heck he might even take his good old time whilst you roam about & look at more stuff.  :eyebrow:

So wud did ewe deeside on for a gun?

Well, right now, I'm undoubtedly going with the Kel-Tec PF9. I spent another couple hours reading reviews and watching videos.
It's just got everything I want.
And nothing about a 2lb piece of steal grinding into my flesh sounds comforting, but this gun weighing in fully loaded at barely less then 1lb, and already being labeled the smallest 9 on the market...is talking my language. :eyebrownod:

Now with that said...I'm not going to get anything for a while yet. I want to make sure my kids are takin care of for Christmas, and all that stuff first. So I will have some time to change my mind yet...but it's looking like the PF9.
One thing I am going to do yet that I havent, is run over to Cabela's and feel a few of these over. I'll have to put the squeeze on a couple before I make it final.

If you decide to go with a PF9, you might give this guy a call.  Darrell Whittaker

http://www.whittakerguns.com

He sells the PF9 for $230 + $25 shipping.

He also sells just about anything else you can imagine that's firearm related.   :laf:

:holdon:  DO NOT look thru their Cooper lineup over there Jim!!!!!!!!!

:alscalls: :alscalls:

Whittakers has a huge selection of firearms & I enjoy perusing their site from time to time.
