Bryan, the 3rd from the left to me is the best. I like the shape, clean lines and color combination. That's is a cool concept. Looks like you are continuing to push and experiment. Good job, Brian.

Tell ya what. Somtimes that acrylic can be hair pulling. Especially when clearing out any scratchs or nicks from tooling.
I will say this. If it were not for Al having that how to page on his website, I might not have been able to do what I have so far. In short I would like to say a big Thank You to Al Woodard.

I see you found a use for that Violet acrylic LOL.  How did you like turning the green?   I knew someone was cussong me out this weekend :)

I love the looks of the crow call.  Seat that reed down in there a bit more and I would like it even more, but you did a very nice job on that call.  Are you using a sorby tool to do that ?

There is a product called Sanoprene Rubber, or something like that, I will have to look it up for you.  It works much better than cork for your wedges.   Cheap too.  I think it would last longer and wear better.  A lot of the duck call guys use it.

Anyway, those are some sharp looking calls.   You're on a roll now buddy.

To be honest AL the green was pretty easy compared the the Violet which gave me hell. Brkoe on me at the joint. Did a little repair job on the lathe and could not save it for my liking. That call will go on the shelf as a reference of what not to do i nthe future. The tutorials have been very helpful, I now own stock in Brasso does a fairly nice job on the wood too. Yes that is a Sorby tool I am useing, found out the hard way it does not like hard woods or maybe it was me. I could not get the spiral to look good on the purple heart. Cocobolo totally different story. One of the best investments besides a lathe I have made.

CypressSlough gets credit for the brasso trick.   He is the one who put me onto it a while back.  Being a former Marine, I swore I would never use brasso again when I retired.

Now I use Novus LOL.   Brasso still brings back flash backs.

Al that's the same way with the Fire Department. They don't put all that polished aluminum and brass on fire trucks for any reason other than to keep us busy cleaning it. And the brass poles in the stations are another ball game by themselves. Brasso goes on it all. If I hadn't already been using Brasso for calls before I had to use at the department, I would use something else, too. Brian.

Enjoyed the picture of your calls.   Like CS, the pattern/material combo of the 3rd from left catches my eye the most.   

I might have turned and prepped that many calls in a weekend at one time, but at 3+ weeks per call to apply and cure my finish, only pictures I could post of finished calls were of calls made at least a month before.

The Navy uses plenty of Brasso too Al.   I saw the world OK, included more than enough of one particular country in SE Asia.   But my "never again" from the Navy was SPAM.   Every once in a while since 1969 the ex wife would bring a can home to tease me, and it would soon go sailing over a neighbors house as far as I could throw it.   Bunch of rusty SPAM cans laying around now in 4 states, and the wife... well, she won't be teasing me anymore.
