Steel casings

Went to the range tonight after work to unwind a little :eyebrow:
I noticed Rick223 had a box of steel cased 9's for his pistol. I read somewhere and I dont think it was here, about how those are bad for guns, and I cant remember where I read it.
Incidentally, they were ejecting so horribly they were hitting him in the head and face. :laf:

For years, most of the steel cased ammo was Russian made and it was awful stuff.  Depending on what you read and who wrote it, the steel cased ammo is hard on extractors and barrel chambers. IMHO, I wouldn't put the Russian stuff in any of my firearms. YMMV.

I see that Hornady is now producing steel cased ammo in several calibers. However,  I don't have too much info on the new steel cased Hornady ammo to form an opinion about it. For now, I'll stay with brass cased ammo and be happy.
