BIG off highway logging trucks

On our recent bear hunt, we did all we could to avoid the huge off highway logging trucks.  We got a few pics of them.



Code is 6' 1" so you get a sense of the size as he stands by the trucks in the pics.  The loaded truck has logs cut off rather than the full tree length they sometimes haul.  I've seen them with logs so long that they drag the ground way out behind the truck when the load bounces.  With really long loads it is useless to pull off on the outside of a wide curve in the road, because the tail swing of the long logs will sweep across and wipe you out anyway.

They run some steep roads.  The sign below is from the public "highway".  Roads in the clearcuts are much steeper in places.
