Forgot I had this one in the camera. I wish I woulda had a camera that would pulled him in a little closer. He was probably barely 75/80 yards off the road.

Good catch with the camera!  Is that a deer carcase & spine he's working on?

Jim, I won't say why but you gotta bring that camera out this way some time.  Bring lotsa batteries and lotsa gigs of storage 'cause you will go nuts!

Thats a deer carcass Clyde. I'm thinking someone shot it earlier, wounded it,  and it made as far as this corn field, cause it's not in a place someone should be shooting, and if they did it would have been crazy easy retrieving it.

Last night coming home from ice fishing there was 9 deer standing right where that eagle was.

I got a 16 gig card for the camera, and it maxed the camera out. Says it's got 9999 pics left...even with 136 still on it. Will that be enough :eyebrow:

That's 10,000 pics! Wow!   :highclap:  That would keep you going for awhile alright!

That's cool Jim.  I got to see one at LBL circling above one of our sets.  There were too many tree branches in the way to try to get a photo.  The sun was just right and it's head and tail were very white.  Beautiful!!

You can't kill 'em from the recliner!!

I dont know if it's the part of the country we live in, the Mississipi river up here, the number of farms, or all of the above. But there is a literal plethora of Bald Eagles up here.

One of the local towns, they have Bald Eagle day down by the river and tree huggers from around the world gather round with their gazillion zoom lenses and 1970's plaid jackets and take pictures and gasp for 24 hours, as the Eagles fly in and out, walk around on the ice etc.

One day a month or so ago while I was running my daughter back up to college, (the road runs along side the river for 3 hours) we came up on a way side that was packed to hilt. She had to make a pitstop so we pulled in, and it turned out the DNR was there handing out pamphlets on the Eagles and had all kinds of tripods with spotting scopes and stuff set for people to take advantage of.
Without getting involved, I spotted 13 Bald Eagles from the front seat truck as I looked out onto the islands.
I dont know what they like about it here, but there's something.
