Hawk or a Falcon?

I heard this bad boy screamin down by the river the other day, and it seemed like it took me forever to find him. With the help of the camera zoom i finally picked him out.
Unfortunately, I forgot to back the zoom out of it's digital range and into optical before I took the pics, so they're a mess.

But I tried looking it up to see what kind of bird this thing is. All I can tell is that I think it's a type of Hawk, but cant find no pics of one with the mask like this guys got.
Ahh crap...I'm becoming a bird watcher
