Jim,

How that pair made it to your house (and in that condition I might add) is pretty remarkable.  I have only seen two other pairs like that and both were in pretty poor condition â€" unlike yours.  Whey they are so simple looking, the actual ‘construction’  is really good.  The wrapping on the connector was a step up from the original that had a single strand of lace leather.  The stitching also shows the time that the maker took on that particular pair.  I have heard that many times they actually look like they were hand stitched, something that doesn’t seal the seams as well and quite frankly does not look nearly as good as your pair.

Thanks for sharing,

Jerry

:laf: Jerry just lost it

I resemble that remark.  But to truly lose it one must have first found it and I am not so sure about that.

I'm surprised you held out as long as you did Chris :laf: I kept thinking to myself, if Nor-cal comes in here this is over. BradH or Msmith might be the only others to know. :alscalls:

Mandy and the boys were over and I asked them if they knew what these are.  The youngest didn't but the oldest, 9YO did, as did Mandy.
When they come for mine they better bring theirs
