So I got this crazy notion to build a deer blind. I had a bunch of old 2x4's out back & all I needed to buy was a couple treated 2x4's & 4x4's along with a sheet of 5/8 OSB for the floor. Ended up with a nice big blind that will accommodate several people both large & small. Made it 42"D X  84"W. 2 shooting windows at different heights & a 5' bench tucked into the corner away from the door.

This is it after I screwed the walls to the floor & covered it with plastic Can-Am 4 wheeler crate covers.

This is the bench. I lopped the corner off.

Some vinyl siding that has been laying on the property for several years.

Still needs a roof, insulation, a door & some corner trim boards. Then some hunters & critters!!!!

I like it! I especially like the decorative edging bricks out front. :yoyo: They really set the place off.

I am with Jim.  I just wasn't too sure about it till I saw the bricks.  That is JUST what was needed to make it a first class deer blind.

P.S.  I have always thought there should be a properly built shelter for blind deer to go and hang out.   :shock2:

 Seems my landscaping prowess gets more attention than my carpentry skills!! Or lack thereof.  :innocentwhistle:

Thanks everybody. The property owners are gracious enough to allow me to hunt there & their kids are growing up fast. Just wanted to give back a little. We'll have cob corn out in front for the young lad that started hunting last year. He shot a nice doe from that same spot only from a popup blind.  :yoyo: :yoyo:

Very nice blind. Don't forget carpeting, heat and some coat hooks. After all, you have to be comfortable while hunting.  :highclap:

Yeah I aint writin a book anytime soon!!  :nono: :nono:

I also have some old rubber mats that bank tellers use that I'll cut & fit. Once the insulation goes up I'll put some more plastic over that then run some strapping across to hold it in place & put some hooks on those.

This time of year some mums would look nice amongst your landscaping bricks. Then you would REALLY attract the deer. They would think it was a yard instead of the woods.
