We had our first good frost this past weekend. Woke up to 34 degrees and the power was out. I didnt light the stove but I sure thought about it.

I can remember when I first installed the wood stove. I used to get so pissed off over Halloween cause it just irked me to have to open that front door every 3 minutes in the cold rainy wind and then stand there for several more pretending to be be amused while my furnace chugged $4 a gal fuel oil in the background. :doh2:
That was the first thing that went through my mind when I installed it. lol Come on you gouls and gobblins, I'll hold that door open all night now.. :biggrin:

There talkin 70's by next week here again  :huh:

Built a fire here one morning last week to take the damp chill out of the house. Then built it again last night because a rainy cold front was coming thru. It did too about 7:30 PM.

Jim,

Why do you sit inside and wait for them?  Just do like we do here and sit on the front steps.  It sounds to me like a 'further' northern boy needs to actually put on a light jacket so you can sit outside in the 20 degree weather.  I know that you normally don't put on a winter coat till it is around 0 so just grab a light jacket and wait outside.    ;yes;

A fire sounds good this morning.  First day of Fall cold here, in a cold rain.  We need a frost to kill the bugs.  Gnats swarmed me yesterday afternoon when I deer hunted a little.

Jerry, last year I sat on the porch dressed up as a...well...I dont know what you'd call it. A zombie. :eyebrownod:

Were covered in mosquitoes Clyde. Like we never have been. I assuming due to our floods. Cant wait for a good hard frost to kill them and my fall allergies.
