My brother went grocery shopping with his wife this weekend at a local grocery store called the market basket. This is an interaction he had when leaving.
 


"I left Market Basket and there was a woman standing at the end of their driveway holding up a sign saying I lost my job I'm trying to raise 3 teenagers please help.
I rolled the window down and said Market Baskets hiring right now."

And I bet that she didn't drop the sign and go to fill out an application. If it is anything like around here, an application isn't needed, just a pulse.
