This is a video I took some time ago. I hope I didn't show it here once before. I know he has a cur and is training it. I think a dog will work in heavier cover . This video is in some thick cover with an open field. As you can see the coyote didn't want to show himself and all he did was run back and forth in the cover of the trees until he couldn't stand the dog being there anymore. He finally stepped out and was history.

Let me try and help you out Bushmaster. First of all let me welcome you to the site.
Tolling is using a dog(s) to help draw a coyote(s) out into the open or closer to the caller so that you can shoot the coyote.
By what I have seen and heard there are several variations of this technique, but it can be a very useful technique to get coyotes to come out and play. Many times the caller will let out with a howl and then the dog will get out a little ways from them. The dog usually senses the coyotes before the caller does and he goes out to (play) with the coyote. They do a little game of cat and mouse until the dog has drawn the coyote close to the gun. Then it's game over for the coyote.  :sneer:

No kidding?  Thats incredible!  I live in the east and havent had any good fortune with howling.  How do you train a dog to do that?
