Sharp uptick in road killed deer

Within the past ten days I've noticed many more road killed deer than usual. Most of them appear to be short yearlings, born last spring and averaging probably 11 months old now.  Is this common elsewhere?

These are blacktail deer, not nearly as abundant as whitetails are in many of your areas.

Cant say I've seen anything out of the norm here.
I live in a pretty rural area and deer carcasses along side the roads are common. Havent seen any youngins or increases in numbers though.

Lots of deer out feeding on fresh spring growth right now, some of the best of that along road rights-of-way. I suspect that the short yearling deer haven't developed caution around cars, not that any deer have much sense about roads and cars.
