I tinkered around this weekend with some more of this style.  Just following the tools and the little voices in my head.  I tried a few different shapes, just seeing how each one would look.  The two calls on the left were the original 2 that I posted earlier.  The next one is a "faux" green hedge call.  The one to the right of the 3" mag is some of Al's cool cocobolo with one of his decorative bands.  Followed by another coco and some blue pearl acrylic.

I kinda like making these.  I just need to figure out which shape that I like.

Anybody got any opinions?

Thanks,

Brian,

They all look sharp, but my favorite would be the smallest Cocobolo just to the right of the "little green" one.  I like the smooth lines and have always been partial to smaller calls.

Brian,

I like them all, but I really like the right three, to include the sharp look'n blue one.  :congrats: :congrats: :congrats:

I'd venture to say ya have a future a head of ya in the hobby, and not to put the pressure on  , but I think you'll progress in leaps and bounds. Very nice job.  :congrats:

I think they're all very sharp!   "I just need to figure out which shape I like" Why narrow it down? Offer em all.  :eyebrow: You don't wanna get bored doin just one.   Scott
If I had to pick, I think shapes 3,4, and 5

I think they all are awesome looking
You did an outstanding job.  :yoyo: :yoyo: As far as which shape, I'm going to root for 4 & 5. The smooth rounded mouth pieces are easier on my kisser when given her hell.

Thanks guys for all of the comments and feedback.  That's what separates this site from all of the others. :highclap:

Jim, the original calls were made for the duck hunting buddies of mine, so I put the reeds in backwards on these calls.  I don't think my duck hunting buddies would figure out which was the correct "real" end to blow in :roflmao:, so I stuck with the same end as they are used to on the duck calls.  :nono: So the end that you blow in for these, is actually the bottom of the call in the pic.  But that is good advice on where the caller's lips go on a call.  If I ever did flip around the reed in the call, then I will have to have some smooth edges on the top of the call.  That's an excellent point.

like the shape of number 5, agree with the fact of a flared mouth piece. the blue one caught my eye also, but i think it was the color.
