That's not a copperhead. It could be a milk snake but it's not poisonous.

After many hours of in depth research I found the answer....  :wo:

It's a king sized corn eating milk drinking smashed headed very much dead snake.  :whew:

Born and raised in the southern highlands of Appalachia, I'm just an ol' country boy who enjoys calling coyotes... nothing more, nothing less.

Definately not a copperhead. Scales and tail do not match. And I have killed more than my fair share of 'em. I see the same thing done with the highland water snake and th cottonmouth. Folks see the water snake and holler cottonmouth just because of similar markings in th young and it's found around water. Thin head like your thumbnail leave it alone is a general rule for non poisonous snakes. Heads shaped like an arrowhead , kill the sucker quick  :eyebrownod: Jimmie

I still think it is a rat snake.

The pic I posted.......I milked the venom right from its fangs.....The babies looked a lot like cathryns snake I would need to see it up close to be sure but nothing wrong with caution.
From the size of it I would say there are many more nearby.LOL

I think Eric may be right. Look at the markings on Cathryn's and these two. They look the same to me.

Well regardless of what kind it is or should I say was! It is a good one, DEAD!

I'm not a big fan of snakes. I won't go out of my way to kill them but if they are near my home turf well, they probably won't see another day.
