Day started off cold and foggy, got the blocks out on the river by 4:30 just in case someone else had our spot staked out.

First bird that came through after shooting light was a lone mallard.  Both my oldest boy and I missed. 

The rest of the day brought mergansers only until we pulled out and hit a little swamp hole where we got 2 woodies.

This is my 12 yr old in the bamboo blind, his first ever duck hunt.

We cooked lunch right there on the little portable gas grill.  Burgers, hot dogs, and sausage sure did hit the spot.

Later on at the little swamp hole, my cousin Jake, Nick and Dylan.  Jake got the drake, my oldest Dylan took the hen.

Finally Nick took the camera and wanted a picture of me.

We should have had more, I was having a bad day shooting.  Think I only took one of them mergansers.  Regardless the kids and adults ENJOYED themselves, I was extremely proud of them kids and how safe they were.
I'll be hunting all week, so I'll have the coffee made for yall in the mornings.
