Got a new to me truck.

Bought a 1989 nissan two wheeel drive, king cab with topper yesterday for $1,000. I have 5 of these now but the story I have to tell happened today. Up here if you get a vehicle over 10 year's old it has to have a safety inspection before you can get insurance. I took it over to a buddy who run's a convenience store that used to be a garage and he has the license to sign my paper. When I walk in to talk to him one of the coffee group ask's the usual what's new. I told them I had bought a new truck and this young dude [23] said "me too". So we went out to look at them [all 9 of us] and he laughed at my little truck parked by his apple red, 4x4 F250 quad cab, with every bell and whistle you can get. I listen politely while he ran my truck down and finally said "$100 say's your truck won't follow where this one will go". As I anticipated with his testesterone running a mite high he said "you're on" and grabbed my hand to make it official. "where we going to test your stupidity" he say's with that voice all full of confidence. "Right across the road there", I say's pointing to a half mile of silver willow that's standing 5 foot high and just begging to scratch the paint off the pretty bruiser. One of his bud's say's "pay the man cause you sure as heck can't afford to follow him". My truck now owe's me $900 and I think I'll write that off as That was way to much fun.
   


I mean really how could you laugh at this thing of beauty and think you could get away with it.

Some people will just not learn.  Go back tomorrow and see if you can get another $100 from him.  If the truck is running good that is all that matters.

I've got five of these little truck's and it cost more to put tire's on his than I paid for all of mine.  29mpg bringing it 288 km home.   You can lift the transmission with one hand and use your other to put the bolt's in.  Unbelievable what they'll go through and a comealong and chain will get it out of most anything.
