It couldn't have went much better. I pulled along side the road at 5:50 this morning. It's only short walk to my spot. I got about half way there and I heard them gobbling. Hurried the rest of the way there put out the decoy. I let out a couple soft yelps with a mouth call, two of them sounded off about a 100 yards away. After about 5 minutes I gave them another couple yelps with a slate, they sounded off again. Not long after that I saw them fly down so I gave them some more sweet hen talk with a box call, they both sounded off again. Next thing I know there they are about 50 yards and closing fast. OH CRAP put the call down and get the gun ready!!!! They made a beeline for the decoy. I put the bead on the closest one and let him have it. Now the time is 6:25. Yea, first morning of my season and I'm done already.

He had a little over a 10 inch beard with about 3/4 inch spurs.

I made it to work with my bird cleaned and in the freezer by 8:10.

Here's a couple pics
