I havent seen a single pic of any harvests posted yet?

I havent got any either, but I havent got anywhere to look for them. Public land is a waste of time, and my coyote country is kinda off limits since the owners hunt them themselves.

So whats your excuse?

I don't know what to look for?  Do the morels grow in the south?  I love mushrooms but  do not know which one are eatable. cc

I'm having as much luck with mushrooms as I am
with turkey huntin.  :pout:   :eyebrownod:
I haven't devoted a ton of time to em, but I've
looked for em every time I've been out turkey huntin.
I've found quite a few the past couple of years just doing this,
so far this year,, zero.

I haven't been out looking this year. But my brother found a bag full of them a couple weeks ago. He found 35 in one bunch and had about 80 all together. A few were black, most were yellow.

MorelMasters.com was buying them for 15.00 a pound, and now that they are hitting the peak and popping everywhere, they dropped their buying price down to 12.00 or 13.00

I think your right. :mad3:

I might end up buying some from a farmers market this weekend just so I can get that annual taste in my mouth.

I have not found any black morels up in the mountian like we usually do.  my grandfather normally finds two dozen just beside his driveway and he only found 4 this year.  on the other hand a guy at work has a wife that hunts for em.  he came in one day with four brown lunch bags filled full with the grey ones.  I took one and dad took one.  he said his wife found twenty bags full looking in two days.  we ate mushrooms all week.  after that I did not look for anymore.  it would have been nice to have some black morels with backstraps though.  I guess regular portabela mushrooms will work just as well.  one thing I would like to find is some leeks.  I have not found any and think I got good areas.
