Trigger Assist

EZ Pull Trigger Assist
Anyone ever use on of these or heard the pros and cons on it?

I put a Timney in my 22-250 and I just love it, but after spotting these assists, I'm wondering about trying em out on a few other rifles.

I have not used one, but have seen them. I have thought about getting one that I could use on rifles that I have not had any trigger work done on. It is a basic lever & fulcrum set up with a fixed point. There is really no change in your actual trigger pull weight, just the fulcrum that makes it feel that way. There are two things that I wonder about: the first is how the base, that attaches to the trigger guard, would work. Not really so much how it would work, but how it wold work on a thinner trigger guard or one that has tapered edges. I am sure that it would be super on a flat sided trigger guard. The other "wonder" is how it would feel to squeeze the trigger assist toward the top of the trigger guard. This is just the opposite of how you would normally squeeze and in order to get the lightest pull you would need to pull on the upper most part of the release.

I guess it is time for you to become the tester of this one. Either that or get a Jewell trigger and never look back. I have a couple Jewell triggers installed (back when I had money from selling birds years ago) and they are VERY nice.

I wondered about a tapered trigger guard myself. I can just see the thing setting off to one side all cock eyed.
The other thing I was thinking about is trying one of these on a pistol. I got a Ruger 9 that feels like it's got a 6" trigger pull. I've whined about it from day one.
But after looking at the guard....I really doubt there's room in there for it on the 9. I'd have to have some specs on it.

Jimbo, get some string....tie it to your trigger finger....then tie a brick to the other end....keep curlin that sucka for a week....BIONIC TRIGGER FINGER....PROBLEM SOLVED........

bought one hated it got rid of it. no doubt it definately reduces the pull. it is just a simple lever mechanism but the creep is unbearable in the rifles I tired it on. would never recomend it for anyone looking for a serious trigger job. with the way this thing works it takes allmost 4 times the amount of distance to fire the gun.

I wondered about the creep factor. I don't care for the ACCU trigger from Savage due to that. JMHO

I've got a .243 savage with the ACCU trigger and there is NO creep in the trigger. The safety bar has to be depressed but I don't call that creep. I think the ACCU trigger is the greatest thing since sliced bread in an out of the box rifle. My $.02

Semp--Maybe I needed to shoot that one more than I did. But I just couldn't get away from the feeling I got from it. Not saying their bad. Just that I didn't like the feel.

I'm just giving my opinion on the ACCU trigger. I'm sure there are plenty others who don't like it as well.

I kinda like the accutrigger too, but you can actually feel the trigger when you get to it, you have a better sense as to whats going on.

This assist deal, I'm spooked about not knowing where that trigger is.

Mr. Jim ,
Personally I would put the money into a good after market trigger or else have the factory trigger
tweaked to your specifications. Any decent gunsmith should be able to adjust most factory triggers to a safe and user friendly level.

Or you could just send those firearms to me. I would have then worked on by a very competent gun doctor. I would then perform numerous quality control and safety tests... then send them back to you

in a few years.

My 1st impression by reading it was if you have 50% let off you have to carry it twice the distance. Simple mechanical advantage. I'd have to follow the advice of new trigger or getting the factory trigger worked on. If it's a Remington do a little surfing on the web, they're pretty easy to adjust. (I wouldn't fool with the sear screw though) Hammer I've tried the accu-trigger and personally didn't care for it either. But as was mentioned everyone likes different things.
