I guess my carelessness will just add a little more character to the gun  .  The old girl has been broke in half[not me] and a few other minor dings and scratches.  I got a buddy with a lathe and milling machine who will build me a new screw for the gun so it won't be out of commission long . 
VV I couldn't agree with a person more than I do with you.  The word you speak of is the one word that is the most used and can be used for every situation.  I got a big buddy that can say more with it than Shakespeare could say in a play.
The word I chose to use was Otiose.
