Update on the critters.

   Spring arrived whether us or the weather was ready for it in the chick department.  The incubator chicks were to hatch on Monday and the new hatchery fluff balls were due on Tuesday. 

Chick thinking it's time to break out.

Then a box showed up at the post office .


Voila, more buddies.


Gotta get a drink before you can run free.


The gaurd dog who watch's his flock like a vulture but can heard chickens all day.  Had to chuckle as he growled at the wife for meaking him leave the chick house.

Not hard to pick out the Tom's at three days old.


Speaking of Toms most of the outside yearling turkeys made it through the winter all right.  What with living outside and all .


As always there is the one problem bird in a flock and I got a notion most of you know who that is.

I don't understand this jacking on a thread like this at all .  I do apology's for the actions of some members on the board for their actions .

Well really Jim I don't think it was all the dog   I studied a couple more pics and I still ain't sure. 


He's a little red around the pucker hole in this one so I'm getting kind of suspicious.


Maybe someone else can help out on this one. .

Yep I can taste the popcorn now .  I tell Wilma I'm taking the Li'l colonel's fishing that's what I'd be getting.  Sides I like eating chicken .

Got some great news last night .  Cathryn the last turkey hen left that I thought had been taken by a coyote was spotted out feeding in the yard yesterday so she is still alive .  I guess she is sitting on eggs somewhere and that is just to cool as the boys are ecstatic.  I might have got lucky by shooting the one coyote after it took the other hen off her nest. Got so dang many coyotes here you never know if the right one is getting shot or not .
