Got the tailgate painted today and put in new cab mounts. I hope to get the roof painted tomorrow.

Dan - Good post and excellent work your skill is something to be proud of and it appears that you take pride in your work  Keep the pictures and narrative coming.
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

Got the roof painted and ended up having to let this one sit for a few days while I put a bedside in a 2010 Silverado, insurance company's come first.

Then got the two tone on the cab taped up and sprayed.

I am enjoying the updates and hate that you have to take care of insurance work  :doh2:  rather than working on the one we are watching come back to life.

Man I love it. I wish I was there helping you :jump:

Come on down Jim, I will put you to work!
Got the cab painted today, if all looks good tomorrow I can start buffing and getting it ready for the bed.

It looks good today, but probably not ready for a buffer. This is turning out really nice.

I wish I was there helping ya. I'd like to learn that trade and I always enjoyed working on vehicles.

Well got it un taped and out of the paint room, not much buffing to do just a few specks of dust here and there.
I hope to get on the bed tomorrow, but got another insurance job waiting.
There's a tone of stuff still left to do.

Damn that is nice, when can I pick it up?

Today JohnP! That will keep me from having to put this thing back together.
It's starting to wear on me.

Looking good.  Who would have thought that you would find white under the covered sections - and it is in such good shape.   :innocentwhistle:

Got the bed sitting on it today! Man that's one heavy bed!
Ran into a problem! It doesn't fit.
I don't know if the floor for the bed is wrong or what, it sets 1" higher than the cab and I'm going to have to raise the cab up.
I already put new rubber cab mounts in it and now I'm going to have to raise it up to fit the bed.
It's stuff like this that make these kinds of projects suck.
But when dealing with aftermarket parts nothing fits like it should! I've had to file the holes were the key locks go, after it was already painted and had major problems with the door handles.

Yep, when things go wrong it is a pain.  I do know what you mean about the weight on the old parts.  I helped work on a 64 Thunderbird and when I took it over to a guy to have new silicone brakes and lines put on he said that it was the first time that he heard his lift groan.

You know some people have a language that only they can understand.  LMC Locally Manufactured Crummily.  (I honestly don't know either.)

LMC Parts
They sell aftermarket  body panels and stuff. Some of it is good stuff. They've gotten quite a bit of my money in the past.
Some of it is junk too

Ok never heard of them. Must not be around here. These came from classics, I'm not sure who made them!

Got the bed painted today, hopefully tomorrow I can get it setting in place.

Super good thread and thanks. :yoyo:

I'm happy to make em run down the road.  I'd also be proud to drive that when done , even though it ain't a Ford.
I say what I think not think what I say.
