We got more huns around here than I and other old farts have ever seen.  Nothing to see 200+ on a 7 mile drive.  Some SOB got five of my flock at the road with their vehicle.
I say what I think not think what I say.

South of the border guy here, but what is a Hun? I am assuming some type of bird since you mentioned flock, but it is a term I have never seen before.

Jerry, they are Hungarian partridges or grey partridges.  The smallest upland game bird we have.  Possibly the best eating but ya need a couple to make a single meal.  They can have upwards of 20 little ones that can outrun a Cheetah I swear.  People tend to flock shoot at them and sometimes they get 4 but most times 0 is their score.

Thanks Barry. I have never eaten Hungarian partridges, but have heard from several people who have that it is VERY good.

Flock shooting brought back a memory of when I was in high school. We were coming back from hunting pheasants and rabbits and saw a snow covered field with hundreds of starlings. I opened up the choke on my Mossberg, stuck it out the window, and fired. Every one took off. I didn't even get a feather.  :sad3:

And then there was the time me and a buddy snuck a huge number of ducks.  Both flock shot 1 shot and we picked up 30 some ducks.  Never did that again. :nofgr:

We did it again :innocentwhistle:

I was never in on a flock shoot where we got that many but one time on a tight flock of cinnamon teals, I got seven out of seven as they rose about a foot or two off of a pond I'd sneaked to and I sluiced them.

We had more chukars than Huns where I grew up in the dry basalt cliffs and hills of Eastern Washington State.  Huns were a rare treat, kind of like a quail on steroids for size and speed.

Heck, I was happy when I downed one pheasant. Never was in a position to get more than one at a time.
