Coyote101, topdawg, and me met for the LBL hunt last Friday and Saturday. Topdawg brought two of his friends so there was five total. Two coyotes were killed. Coyote101 got one on Friday morning as did topdawg and his two buddies. We had a good time even in the warm weather.

The hunt has progressively gotten smaller each year. Lots of folks have lost interest in day time hunting especially with the success of night hunting with the new thermal scopes. Thermal and night vision is a completely different ballgame compared to the cold calling we do at LBL. Plus I think some may have just given up on predator hunting altogether. Whether we have a hunt next year will just depend if anyone decides to show up.

Well...thanks for sharing that KY.
I wasnt sure anyone went this year. But it sounds like at least you 5 had some boots on the ground.
I forgot how warm it was then. But it beats the dam 20 below wind we got here now.
I'm glad you guy made it and didnt get skunked.  :congrats:  It

Two coyotes for five men in those conditions sounds pretty good.  I'd enjoy pics if you have some.

LBL is one hunt I would have loved to make, but not likely now. I'm envious of pitw who made it all the way from western Canada one time.   We are all getting older, and that probably accounts for the drop off more than anything else.

It really was beautiful. I had a long time trapper tell me it was one of the best furs he had ever seen at LBL. I offered to give it to him, but it had already been dead for over a day, and he said it was too late to do anything with. A shame really, I ended up throwing it in a ditch when I left.

I think that's a giant red fox

What a beautiful coyote!  That's the reddest one I've ever seen.  Thanks for posting.

Did it have any collar marks?
