USPS Priority Mail

Is it just me? ...or is Priority Mail always an absolute joke for everyone else too?
I dont think I've ever had priority mail delivered with any kind of priority what so ever. I used to use it just to get a tracking number.

I sent a birthday package to the daughter Tuesday afternoon. She lives 58 minutes away.
Would you like Priority or ground?, Sir.
"Priority is fine"
They shipped the package to a Post office over 3 hours away. Rather quickly too. It was there by the next afternoon.
Then Wednesday night, they sent it to another station another 40 minutes further.
I cant make this shit up.
Tracking says it hit THAT Post office at 9:45 yesterday morning.
I just checked the tracking tonight and it says the packing is still there, waiting to depart and expected delivery is tomorrow.
So here we are, they are going to send it back this way, now 4 hours away and will be 4 days later.

It was 58 minutes away from her door the day I mailed it priority. What an absolute joke the USPS continues to be.
Ok...I'm done ranting. Time to enjoy the weekend

I 100% know how you feel, they are a giant cluster crap from top to bottom. And FedEx and UPS are just as bad.

There are actually a lot of angry citizens right where I live at this moment because of the random intermittent mail delivery with the local post office as is due to the fact that they shorthanded and can't hire anyone.

They are really getting roasted in the local paper about it.

THAT has been an issue here too. I wondered why I only got mail once or twice a week. Come to find out it's everyone around here. I thought it was a local issue.

Been there and had that problem. I had a paint brush (small flat rate priority) that came from Cleveland via Toledo, Detroit, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Detroit, Columbus, and Toledo. It only took 9 or 10 days to cover a couple hundred miles. My sister lives in a small town and all of their mail goes to Columbus to be sorted and in many cases sent back to her home town.

And there's nothing you can do to fight the bureaucracy. I posted about a year ago about a laser bore sight. I ordered that got shipped to about nine different states and then finally after three weeks they told me it was confiscated as dangerous cargo because it had lithium batteries in it.

So I contacted the store that I bought it from which I think might have been basspro and got reimbursed for it after jumping through a few hoops.

Low and behold, about three months later, I get a package in the mail that had the laser bore sight in it.
