Well first I became a big fan of Fins And Fur....

Then giving credit where its due, I bought a real good call from kees calls. Thanks Brent works well. :eyebrownod:

Then I finally got a day to call one for myself and that bird was HOT! He gobbled almost non stop at me for what seemed like 400yds. He then hung up because a hen cut between us so everytime she yelped I would cut her off cutting and yelping and he just would not come.........So I gobbled......He ran at me stopping to strut @ 50 yds. he gave me and that hen a real show strutting and drumming and gobbling.........I gave a fighting purr and he turned to fight and at 25 yds. Bang He flopped and raised his head to get up so I busted him two more times and BIG BIRD DOWN BOYS!

And what he was eating was not good for him..........

Thanks guys for firing me up this year!

Total Score..........12 1/4"

Way to go Al!  :yoyo:

My season has been a bust. Nothing at all happened on youth day. Of course the first day was miserable wet, but they were gobblin', just on the neighbors though. Didn't get to go again til this past tuesday. No gobblin' goin on whatsoever. I tried to entice one with some yelps to no avail, so I decided to just sit down and see what happens. Before I could get set up, I noticed two longbeards at about a hunderd yards closing in real fast and my gun was leaning against a tree.  :madd: When they hit a low spot, I was able to pick it up and wait, but I was in the wide open. When they got within about 35-40 yards, they noticed me so I leveled the shotgun, had trouble finding the sights but was able to squeeze one off. He rolled so I started toward him. When I got about half way there, he was up and running then hit the air. I blew it.

Today I just got wet, no gobbles at all. I did whack a groundhog with the .22 pistol when I got home though.  :eyebrow:
