Around here farmers would have a locust grove that would keep an on going supply of fence post.
The one we had was a one acre honey hole. From 'shrooms & raspberrys to squirrels, rabbits, & deer. Took several 'coon outta there too. The sweet corn patch was close by.  :eyebrownod:

not many locust around these parts anymore, the most common woods burnt around here are oak, maple, and ash.
