I've noticed since my time here at FnF that Foxpro takes a bad rap for some reason here and I'm not sure why.

They dont really have a bad rap, they actually make a pretty nice product. I had an FX3 for a while and to be frank, I loved it.
You guys know I dont play the wanna-be bullshit you see elsewhere, so here's my honest to god view on this. And this will probably be THE can of worms, but ya know what?...
I think the reason this black FP cloud hovers over Fins and Fur is because the majority of the members have  become sickened by the cumbersome treatment FP gets over on PM....AND your actually allowed to speak your mind here about products.
Anyone who's been around any of these boards for a while knows full well that you do not dare say anything negative about FP while on PM :nofgr: You will get beat into the ground like a cheap tent stake.
Why??...think about it. PM Staff gets anything they want from FP, any time they want it. How do I know this...and who am I to say that?..... :eyebrownod: ask around, I've got some miles on me

Go over there and slam a Minaksa caller and the silence is deafening.
How blatent. :iroll: So where else is anyone going to go to be able to speak there mind if they dont care for FP products?

Want some more?
FP refused to be a sponsor of one of our members upcoming videos because he was associated with Fins and Fur. :innocentwhistle:
In other words, we were suppose to change our ways and only allow positive comments like our adversary. :nono: :nono: :nono:
Some of you may even remember, but when I heard about this, my FP went up for sale the next day. For almost half of what they sell for :sneer:

All in all.....this board will never be a dictatorship :nono: or be paid off like those around us. So if being honest with people and allowing them to speak honestly prevents some vendors from wanting to be associated with us.....consider it the weeding process.

Does FP make a good product? Damn skippy they do, but there will never be one in my carry along again.

well on one hand jim I do  :highclap: for allowing people to speak their minds.  it just seems that there are alot of foxpro haters here.  I just decided to stay out of the scouffles but there are a number of people on here that I am surprised have not posted a response.  I have known mike and steve for allmost three years.  talking to them and knowing them personally I just don't see it.  I aint gonna call ya a liar though.  I know you have been around but when did foxpro get the grip on pm?  ever since I was a member of that board I have allways seen pro Foxpro comments and I have seen some bad ones over there but foxpro has allways seemed to awenser em.  either mike or steve.  I do not venture over there that much anymore and when I do I pretty much stick to the night hunting and the eastern hunting boards.  I have no idea what it is like in the e call section.  I do know that there was a big scouffle between some FP staff and some minaska staff but I think that was more personal then it was the e caller.

They will allow some posts that aren't bragging on Foxpro, but it better remain minimal insults or else it just disappears like "FM". (frigging magic)...... :rolleye:

I've been a member of PM since May 01. They surely do cater to Foxpro and I don't have a problem with the Dillons.
I just like a level playing field. Surely that isn't too much to ask when both are advertisers........is it?  :wo: :innocentwhistle:

"And Bill's a fool if he doesn't release a programmable caller soon.  He's got to make one or disappear."

Well as a matter of fact he is gonig to release a new programable caller and a new digital readout remote this fall. I have a WT2030 and love it, it will be upgraded to the new motherboard and remote as soon as the parts are available. It just keeps getting better all the time. Its hell packing a WT2030 in one and a Minaska U1 in the other.
spoiled rotten I am...... :laf:

What is the reasoning behind carrying two e callers to a stand?

The U1 has a s great decoy and the WT has great sounds. Actually, I don't carry 2 to a stand, although I do switch off between them depending on what I need at the time.

Dan,
You're not spoiled rotten until you have 9  WT's, a couple of Minaska's and some FoxPro's. as well as the entire Johnny Stewart library in digital format  :eyebrownod:

So we'll see if WT really comes through with a programmable caller. I've heard about it for almost 3 years now even from the horses mouth and it's never materialized. I wonder how they'll keep those sounds "protected". My guess is either proprietary format or an entirely separate bank where the sounds are stored that cannot be accessed. Then there will be another bank where the user can put their own sounds onto the caller. I hope that new WT remote reaches out over a mile like the old one they used to make. Either way, it's good to finally see some things change.

Dan Carey

I hope he does too, he has the best caller and the best sounds out there bar none.

I've been calling coyotes since 1954 and have probably owned every quality caller made to date. I purchased a fp 532, that one cured me of buying fp's, so I haven't purchased anything newer than the 532. I don't blindly recommend anything, and I'n not brand loyal.

I will suffer thru with my WT even if he doesn't bring the programmable unit to the market. What I have works and is the epitome of what a E-caller should be. I think it has the least amount of the sales hype whistles and bells. that statement reminds me of my TV remote, I still don't know what all it can do, I do know what it takes to get it to do what I want it to, so the rest is just crap that I don't need.

How he protects his sounds would be a problem that could be worked out, they are certainly worth protecting, they are the best there is and worth far more than what they cost. I never miss a chance to demo my callers when someone has one to compare them to.

Dan,
It's too bad you don't live closer, I'd put the Snow Crow Pro up against a WT any day for clarity and Volume. It's the loudest I've ever heard, and I've heard almost all of them. I'm not brand loyal either as you can tell from my collection... but for pure volume and clarity, nothing on the market will compete with that Snow Crow Pro as far as I'm concerned.  This fall should be interesting to see what everybody brings to the new table of e-callers. I hope that new WT will play 1000 sounds like the current version advertises, because I have 200 WT sounds ready to load into that thing.

Dan Carey

Well, if I had something better, as in volume and clarity, I sure wouldn't waste my money on an inferior WT product. How did you come by 200 WT sounds?

Dan,
I've collected older WT's when they come up for sale and amassed the collection. It's too bad some of the old WT sounds have been diced up since into multiple sounds. Some of those older WT sounds were long sequences. I just picked up another programmable WT about a month ago that had a ton of great sounds on it. I just finished recording some new deer sounds that I didn't have from one of the "non-programmable" WT's too, so I'm done collecting the Whitetail WT collection. Just a couple more groups of sounds to get and I'll be done. If you want your WT sounds off your new WT, just PM me and I'll send you directions if you haven't already done it.
