Well I FINALLY believe that these Job Referral Sites WORK !!! I spent $0.00 in gas to get my Resume and Cover letter out,I just started about 4 weeks ago,,I started getting e-mails for all the jibs within a 26 Mile radius of my house,well last week I got a call from a Union Shop for their Mechanical Maintanance Job,,they set my Interview up for Today (Wed.) and by the time I got home they called and asked me to come back tomorrow for a Tour of the Plant and to Offer me my Starting Wage :shrug: I do NOT know what the pay will be BUT if it is NOT decent I will wait for the other place,,I DON'T have a good feeling about the Pay Rate,,But I SHOULD know a lot more tomorrow :shrug:
I remember when the Dot.Com places were all OVER the Superbowl Commercials,,and I thought Monster.com was either a Joke or a job service for executives or something bigger than us Peon employee's anyway,,but I gave it a try and it DOES work !!! and when I signed up for Monster it branched me off to other sites,,so that made it better and all I had to do was type My resume and Cover Letter 1 time and then just copied and paste the info on all the other sites,, even if I dont get this Job I feel like it works because I have received quite a few Job Referrals that are Semi-Close
to home,,26 miles anyway,,I am STILL thinking I can't believe this stuff actually works :shck:

I use to do that about 1 & 1/2 years ago but I thought I would give it a try, hell I never went out and Put one Application in or any Resume's in,,and they were sending me quite a few every other day,,I am the MOST SKEPTICAL PERSON in the world !!! well maybe not THEE MOST but damn close,,But I wasnt doing anything anyway so I gave it a whirl,,I think what surprises me the most is that this is a Union Shop :confused: :shrug:,, I also was gettin quite a few Machinist Jobs too BUT I really wanted to stay in maintenance,,I still may end up taking a CNC Machinist Job,,hell who knows,,I dont have a 100% offer from them yet,,but he kept saying after the "Tour" that I can make up my mind on ,if I want to work there,,I think what Gets me most is that I never used :shrug: ONE DROP of Gas !!! and IF I get the job he said I could have my Choice of Day Shift or Midnight Shift,,Midnights do not bother me BUT since I live out in the Sticks My Wife does NOT want to be home alone all night :shrug: I have a gazillion Guns here AND they are all loaded,,so I dont know why she dont like it here alone at night,,of course it may go back to when she wanted her CCW Permit,I took her out in the yard at the "Range" and she turned out to be a half decent shot,,but came to the conclusion she could NOT kill another Human Being NO MATTER WHAT !!! :rolleye:

That is my concern because they employ "FAR" Southern People of Mexican Descent,,and it makes me wonder if they are just "CHEAP" or is it a case of another job that Americans won't do ??? Jesus Christ I didnt KNOW that I could negotiate wages,,the guy made the offer,and I basically said that I think I would PASS on the Wage and was going to leave and he said,,WAIT,,we talked again,,he gave me the tour and NOW I have to go back Tomorrow for another offer after he taked to the Boss,,they are HARD UP for Maintenance Men,,which is Obvious if they want to hire me :laf: :biggrin: I THINK it will be that when I go up Tomorrow I will talk to the Plant Engineer and then they will offer again and let me Mull it over the weekend :confused: :shrug: AND I NEVER realized that a Union Shop was even Negotiable ??? he told me that IF I took the job that I was to tell NO ONE what I was getting paid !!! and he was DIRECT about that !!! :wo: so SOMETHING just does NOT feel right :shrug: BUT I did get a Partial tour,,the warmest it is in that Plant is 65 Degrees in the Processing Part,,and there are a few Places that it is 32.5 Degrees,,a friggin 1/2 Degree above freezing :shck: and the WORST PART IS,,there was only about 5 nice lookin Girls that I saw and 2 of them work in the damn Office :doh2: I am starting to get pissed off about making 3 trips up in 3 days and I am NOT gettin paid for it
But this Negotiation for a Maintenance Man has me stumped,,My Job at the Tile Plant was Union but EVERYONE got the same entry Level Wage when we started up there :confused: :shrug: I have only worked 1 union Job,and that was my last job,,so maybe the Tile Plant did it ass backwards :shrug:

Well I took the Job and I am about ready to walk out of the door for my first Day,,I went up on Friday to do my Paperwork and Found out some "STUFF" was left out of the Conversation/Negotiation by the "Boss" :shck: :holdon:
and there were a "FEW" More Discrepencies left out,,soooooo I DONT EXPECT TO BE THERE PAST 2 WEEKS at the MOST !!! my wife said I had a "Negative" attitude :shck: :holdon: I told her your DAMN RIGHT I have a Bad attitude going in to this shit,,when SOMEONE (New Boss) convieniently leaves important shit out of the Conversation and tells a Little white Lie,,your DAMN RIGHT I have a shitty attitude !!! IF we get shit worked out I will be OK,,BUT History has showed me that when a Company Lies to get you to take the Job there usually is a REASON that they lied,and MY History has shown me that when they LIE right off the Git Go,,they will CONTINUE to lie and screw the Employee's !!! Guys, it is easier to find a job IF you already have a job. Suck it up and do the job for awhile. Be looking for something better but get a paycheck coming in the door now. Ya have to think of your family first. Sad, but that is the best way to do it.

I put myself through college wielding a 2nd shift toilet bowl brush. There are times when a job is about money and there are times when a job is about enjoyment. 2nd shift toilets was definitely not about enjoyment, but it was low stress and paid the bills...... ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
Well They Lied again about the hours,,so I told the Foreman that they SHOULDNT LIE or Hide shit from new employee's :argh: and I WASNT real nice about it !!! so when I got home my Wife told me 2 more people called about a Job so I am going to call them today,,hell I stood around yesterday til the LAST HOUR and then shit was breaking left and right,,BUT the "weird" thing is that as soon as I met the Day Supervisor he kept telling me that IF I GET PISSED OFF to come talk to him BEFORE I QUIT :wo:

Stop eating chicken, people from way, way south working there - I am guessing that it is a chicken processing plant. We have turkey plants around here and all of the turkey sexers (people that check the sex at a couple of days old) are from Asia and a few from South America. Just my thought.

We've got a chicken processing plant about 11 miles west of us. It too is full of the way, way south folks.
A guy that I work with who is now an engineer at our plant worked at the chicken place for a few years. You couldn't get him to eat a piece of chicken if you dipped it in chocolate gravy...... :wink:
He told me a few things, I think about it everytime I eat a chicken, but I'm really not all that picky......... :nono:
Well I told the Boss to Pack it in his Ass and loaded my Tools and left them with their mouths agap,,when I asked the one Boss why they lied he told me BECAUSE when they get someone in there they dont quit because they either CANT go back to their old Job OR that if the worker DIDNT have a Job when he came in,he WOULDNT QUIT because he NEEDED the Job

I drug up on them (an old Ironworker saying),,it went from 7AM-4:30 PM to 5 AM-6PM or whenever,,and then when I saw the way they treated 1 guy,,that pushed me to the edge,,this guys wife took EVERYTHING a Month ago,,he came home to NOTHING,,seems she got a new Boyfriend,,,well the Court ordered her to reveal where the Kid is living and she will NOT DO IT !!! so she brings the kid down on Saturday at 2 PM and Tuesday at 5 PM to see the Dad,,well they forced him to work Saturday 6 AM - 7 PM and he missed his Visitation,,well the soon to be ex came down to his house on Sunday and started shit and told the Kid that his Dad DIDNT love him or he would have been there on Saturday to see him,,,well it got a Little hairy and the Sheriff was called,,and they damn near arrested the FAther !!! he told the Sheriff that she was defying a Court Order and the Sheriff said he didnt care because he isnt a Judge (I understand that)
well she left,,so on Tuesday we had EVERYTHING running good,,so the Boss's decided they wanted to replace Bearings on a line that WILL NOT RUN FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER WEEK !!! and told the Guy he is working till 6 or 7 Pm and he got to work at 4 AM,,he told the boss he WASNT working because it was his visitation night AND at 4 PM he will have been there for 12 hours,,and the Union Contract says that the Company can NOT FORCE ANYONE to work OVER 12 hours !!! the Boss said that IF the guy clocked out at 4 PM they would consider it as him QUITTING !!! :argh: So I said I would stay over and take his Place and the Boss said no,,that My 14 - 16 Hour days was coming,,and then in NOT SO FRIENDLY WORDS I proceeded to tell him that NO,,my 14-16 Hour days was NOT COMING !!! so I packed up my Tools and to the Guard House I went,with a Big Grin on my Face :biggrin: I am to damn old to take anyones shit at something as stupid as a Job !!!
I have another Job Brewing,,So I have to go talk to the Guy on Monday to see if I am even Interested,,I talked to the guy for about 10 Minutes on the Phone and Laid it ALL OUT on the table on the Hours I will work,,I told him about me working at the "Funny Farm" for 2 days and then Dragging up,,he said he would have done the SAME THING !!! the way shit is going I may just stay retired !!! This other Job is 12 hour Shifts,,BUT only Mon,Tues and Wednesday,,,and then the next week you work Mon-Thursday,,and then just alternate 3 and 4 day weeks,,I am just NOT going to work six 12-14 Hour days :nofgr: I NEED my Beauty Rest :sleep:

SO MAYBE my Luck is changing because I got a Phone call from a Guy today that says there is a Local guy that has Sheep,,well last year this guy was Deer hunting on the Sheep farmer and shot a Coyote,,the Sheep Farmer gave the guy a $20 Gift certificate :shck: so I got the Sheep Farmers name and Number and I am going to tell him that I will give it a try,,for FREE !!!
