My new vari speed sander Bit me and took off about a 1/4 of my fingernail ( The part the meat was stuck too )  on My trigger finger !!!!  Throbs something awful!

I had the finger nail driven off my triger finger by a pneumatic cylinder . I am missing about an 1/8th inch from the length of my finger now and I have a weired scar instead of a fingerprint there. 3 months before that I crushed the tip of my pinky and broke the bone in the very tip. Told people I broke a pinky swear

So I can say this. I know how bad your throbing

Ya might be thinking of the plainer thing...I lost about 18th inch on that one....

This vari speed belt sander has a place where it is easy to get yer finger stuck in it I may make a guard for it now that I know how bad it hurts.....my old sander woulda just kicked my finger off the paper..... this one hung on eating with 80 grit.....

Its amazing how long a sander can actually hang on aint it.

Working maintenance I have had to get many a finger or hand out of a nasty place. Saw a guy get a thumb between the rest and wheel on a bench grinder. It sucked him in up to the second knuckle. It took the grinder a long time to coast down to a stop so we coould get him out. Now that one had to hurt. Have many a horror story of a machine proving that the human body dont stand up to well.

Ouch...thats gonna hurt in the morning. I ripped a hunk of flesh off my thumb a while back with a rotary Foredom tool and a Typhoon bit. Those things don't distinguish between flesh and wood! That hurt for a few weeks! Hope your back to shooting again soon Al.
