A sure sign of spring in the desert is when the mesquite trees start to leaf out, they seem to know when the last cold spell is over.
Another sure sign is when the our friends start to leave their winter dens.

With your connections I'd think a nuclear strike would be in order for them legless freaks :puke: :puke:
John, I told my wife "here's a photo you will enjoy!" She about freaked! LOL! She says that one snake is too many!
Dave
John, I used to live in San Diego and would sometimes run out to El Centro or Yuma and play around in the desert some. I always wanted to go on a round-up to get some critters for the hide and meat, but never had a chance. Those pictures are great! The wifey won't think so though.
I bet a grenade would fit down those holes. :eyebrow:
Otherwise that's a cool pic Mr John. You're willing to get closer to them than I am. :laf: :laf:
Whatsa matter you easterners? Aint ya ever played with a water moccasin during mating season? Or played hide and seek in a field known for the number of copperheads ? Derned bunch a candies :nono: Jimmie
Oh I played with a copperhead up here ONCE!! :yoyo: And I gotta tell ya they aint no match for the riding mower when you see em 1st & can get over em & drop the deck on em!! :yoyo: :yoyo: :yoyo: :yoyo:
Looks like a GREAT place for some target practice!!!!!! :eyebrow:
I'm glad to see ya back around Mr John. Now all I'm gonna say about them nakes is ... CHITTTTTTTTTTTT ... kinda of long and drawn out if ya know what I mean ...
My uncle once gave a black racer the riding mower . Snake was faster than the deck :eyebrownod: That man has a bigger fear of snakes than Barry. :alscalls: Jimmie
Non-poisonous are ok, but them rattlers are something else. Though I wouldn't mind one for a hat band. :eyebrow:
I hope you found them a good ways from the house! :holdon:

And just how long can he defy gravity :wo:.
Looks like mess of good eat'n and plenty of belts, headd bands and other accessories laying right there. :sneer:
Neat picture of the snakes having a spring picnic. At least the rattlers give you a little warning.
Jerry
John P, great pictures if they didn't have all those buzztails in them. Cold chills ++.
Well Barry, seein as how he's about 4 inches taller and fifty pounds lighter? About two minutes longer than you I would say. He'll gather bees all day long but let me sneak a snake in there and you won't see him for half a day :nono:
I'll have to check and see if my pet is around this year. Best rat medicine I KNOW IS A HUGE CHICKEN SNAKE  Jimmie
Take those down and turn them loose on the border John :eyebrownod:

That's a great pic. I took my son, Dante, out fishing 2 wks ago and saw the same sort of thing, but they were Garter snakes :whew:, and only about 10 of em. They were all rolled up almost as one. We watched for about a minute and then started fishing. About two min goes by, and Dante was back at the snakes 'checkin em out'. Well he he must've broke up the party as a couple went swimming by (baptized). I found some crappies and he was back with his dad. (No snakes were harmed during the making of that crappie dinner)!
