My 8 year old was digging across the road at the edge of a Bean field and come across this Arrow Head. I was so proud of him and told him he could go the rest of his life and never find another one at all or one so perfect in form.  :yoyo:  :yoyo:

That's a great find!   :congrats:  When I see an arrow head I begin to think about the hands that made it and how it was used and then came to rest where it was found.   If only that arrow head could speak!    ;yes;

When they come for mine they better bring theirs

That's purdy cool. We used to find them in the freshly plowed fields here along the river in the spring. I haven't hunted them for probably 35 years now.

That's fantastic  :yoyo:  Love to look for them but nobody plows here anymore.  He has a keepsake for life made by someone he doesn't even know.
I say what I think not think what I say.

Awesome. :congrats: Tell him to hang on to it.

We find them along the river here every spring too. My brother is a big time collector and has cigar boxes full of them.
Word has it that moons ago one of the tribes, used what is now a river side resort, as a main river access point, and floated stuff down the river to move it.

Logan, that's a great looking point you have there.  :congrats: :highclap:
You may want to do a web search to see if you can identify that style, you may be quite surprised how old it is.

Please visit our ol' buddies over at: http://www.easterncoyotes.com

Born and raised in the southern highlands of Appalachia, I'm just an ol' country boy who enjoys calling coyotes... nothing more, nothing less.

Great find !
Congratulations.

Tell him it takes a good eye to be able to find arrow heads.  Most people only see a piece of stone - if they look at all.  I now see why you take him out with you - spotter.

Dave

That is a sweet looking point.
Check out this website - looks like that head could've been made from 2700 yrs ago to 1600 AD.   There is a point that looks just like the one your son found displayed about 3/4 of the page down.
I look for them around here in S.E. PA, but it gets pretty competitive.  My son found a nice point last year and it sure does make you proud!!

I missed this thread back then, great find.  Thanks for bringing it back up Dave.   I've never found one but always have my eyes out for that sort of thing.
