Got out for three stands this morning, was in place before sunup and got this picture.  I only took it to satisfy Mr Champion.

First stand produced a pair of coyotes which I picked up at about 300 yards out.  They dipped into a small dry wash and I expected them to appear again about 35 yards from where I was sitting.  Never saw them again so after about 15  minutes I decided to move on to stand #2.

Stand #2 produced a bobcat which I promptly shot at, please note "shot at."  Enough said about stand #2.

As I was walking back to the Blazer I was thinking maybe I just ought to go home it was after all starting to warm up and my feet started to hurt.  As I was driving out of my calling area I decided that if I see a good place to stop and not walk to far in I would give it a try.  As luck would have it just around the next bend in the two track was a nice little dry wash.  I stopped in the middle of it to take a look.  All I could see was coyote tracks headed in both directions.  Not to far down there was a slight bend and I thought this would do.  Drove out of the wash about 50 yards, parked under a mesquite and walked back to the bend.  Set the caller right in the bend and climbed up the bank, got into position so that I could watch an approach from the east and west  Got settled in turned on caller (FX3-Woodpecker) and about seven minutes into it had one coming in from the east side.  Stopped him at about 50 yards and this was the end results.

Turned out to be a fairly decent morning after all.  Need to go back in a day or two and have a conversation with that bobcat............
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

You can't kill 'em from the recliner!!

Way to go John!  Isn't it neat how we forget all about our aches and pains when there's game coming in.  Glad to see you are getting out and hunting for all of us.

That is a pretty sunrise.   ;yes;

You make this whole predator hunting thing seem way too easy, John.    :eyebrownod:

Nice looking morning John.  All I saw was a wolf track.
I say what I think not think what I say.

Great pictures Mr JP. Sounds like you have in some pretty good hunting areas. Most of ours is pretty tight here. I like that lead slinger you got there also. Congrats on fur down! :yoyo:

Well Semp it is easy, when you have a target rich environment.  I appreciate the comments about the rifle but if'n it wasn't for Zumbo and Obama I wouldn't have it.  Zumbo because he called it a terrorist rifle not fit for hunting and Obama well just because he is what he is, evil.  pitw I'd trade ya that dead old coyote and sunrise for a glimpse at that wolf track.  It's been 25 years since I killed a wolf and sure would like the opportunity to do it again.  Your right Dave sure does sooth the pain -- until you start driving home
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

John I have not shot and killed a wolf around here.  I definately tried calling this one in today and while waiting I wondered if I'd shoot if given the chance[didn't have to worry about it].  Pretty rare to see one here so the tracks were a treat.
I say what I think not think what I say.

John,

Nice looking sunrise and coyote.  As for the bobcat, at least you called one in.  They haven't made it to this area so it doesn't happen around here.
