Put your car keys beside your  bed at night

Tell your spouse, your children, your neighbors, your parents, your Dr's office, and the check-out girl at the market, everyone you run across.  Put your car keys beside your bed at night.  If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car.  The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies.  This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you come home for the night and you start to put your keys away, think of this:  It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation. Test it. It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain. It works if you park in your driveway or garage.  If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, odds are the burglar/rapist won't stick around.   After a few seconds all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won't want that. And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there. This is   something that should really be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime.
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

What if you live alone and your closest neighbor is 3 miles away?  Not too sure they can hear the car horn

He died for dipshits too.

In a case like that Slag....it should work as a distraction. Giving you enough time to jump into your Wranglers before you cycle the action shut on the Benelli

If you live alone and your three miles from any other civilization, you can bet as sure as god made little green apples, ( I been dying to use that ) that any ruckus outside your place in the middle of the night is gonna require the business end of a Benelli.

Watch that thought Jim   I've lived here for 52 years and have been awoken [And did the wakening more than once] by a disturbance in the yard many times .   Not one of these situations called for the use of a Benelli or anything more than a bottle and Ice.

you are correct Jim, the horn going off in the truck would make any goblins that are up to no good to rethink there intentions. Might scare them off might not. I like my moms deterrent. She had a few speakers in the trees around the house. With one touch of the button she had automatic weapons fire commin out in full stereo. Seen here use it once. Scared the bejesus out of some kids that were savaging for scrap :roflmao:.

My mom never once put the fear of God into anyone, now she did on several occasions put the fear of "her" in several people. Yeah My mom could and has made bikers back down .

I miss her terribly

So if you guys don't mind enlightening me just what is my key ring supposed to do  :doh2:.  Only thing I can see about the keys being a deterent would be if they stepped on them and hurt a tootsie

Barry, I don't think your vehicles have a remote key fob.   :nono:   That technology hasn't reached your part of Canada yet.

Heck Semp 1/3  of my vehicles don't require a key .  Kinda/sorta like my house if some one locks the doors I'm screwed  :doh2:

That's a great idea!!  Thanks for the tip.

A few years ago while I was deer hunting I parked my truck at one end of a ridge and walked out to the other end and set up on the point.  In a little while I heard something behind and turned to see a nice buck that had followed me out the ridge.  When I turned around he saw me and headed away from back toward the vehicle.  I tried the key fob thingy hoping it would turn the deer back toward me again.  Unfortunately 100 yards is out of the range of my key fob???  Hey, at least I was thinking!?!?!?
