Any of you guys ever do this and if so how?  I'm finding it harder and harder to get little whitefish hooks with the right color copper on them so was thinking of giving it a go myself and just wanted to shorten the learning curve a mite.

I haven't Barry, but I bet you can find it any basic fly tying book.

Thanks Todd.  Guess I'll have to find a mite smaller vice than I'm used to using :iroll:.  Can't be that hard to do can it?

It's the 5th one's color that I want to make as they are tough for me to find up here.  If I could get jigs like the first one it would be even better as the white fish want these things coming down the river horizontal.

Thanks for the offer Al :yoyo:  I'm thinking I should have taken this up some 27 years ago when I had fingers and could see :doh2:.  We must have some specialty fishing lure places somewhere up here but I never even thought of them :doh2: :doh2:.  I've always just kinda/sorta bought them when I found them but we're running out of places that carry much of this stuff thanks to Walmart and other box stores.

We have a local fly shop about two min. from my house........I just checked my old fly stuff and the only wire I have is lead.

I can find a quarter in a straw stack but I can't find anything on google :doh2:.  Everytime I go looking and hit a link button twice it ends up wanting me to see some porn junk :argh:.  So I just don't bother.

Your looking for a fish "Hook" Barry.....................not a  fish "Hooker".  :roflmao:

They are called Brassies, or Nymphs.
Actually here's a video of a guy tying some up.

Plus you can get some pretty fancy, authentic looking heads to start with, as pictured here. Granted these are for silicone grub or worms, but they'd be ideal for the brassies.

Thanks for that Jim :yoyo:.  Now having watched it and seen the guy with his fingers going close to the hooks I guess I'll psaa on building 'em cause with the way I shake it would be like sticking my hands in a sewing machine that used barbed hooks :puke:.  I also noted that even while he was wrapping that one that he's telling about even better vices to make the job easier[me thinks it could get pretty cost prohibitive by the time your done].
Pretty cool what you fellers can find on this thing though :yoyo:.  That kinda stuff is neat to see and I may try building my own shortly after all.  Shopping on it ain't much fun though is it?
