Yes I tried it and lets say there is a bird with a few less feathers

Thank god for rain gear it rained most of the morning and as soon as it was done I put the rain suit on and went scouting I seen a couple turkey's out in the hay field so I waited at the edge of the woods as they walked around feeding. It didn't seem like they wanted to come my way and they hung up about 55 -60 yards out well last spring a feller told me wait till they are looking at you then shoot and they should fly right to ya
Not this time I shot and I could tell the BB's had stung one but they all turned and ran the other way.I waited about 10 minutes then went to check for sure.I did find a few small feathers but no birds anywhere
Well Maybe next time

Hey you got to see some and burn powder :laf:.  I tried moose hunting and all I found was that my old Ford 4x4 needs a different transfer case :argh:
I say what I think not think what I say.

Sounds like you took a poor 60 yard shot and wounded the turkey.  It will probably die somewhere.

I suggest you pattern that gun and stay within range.  You have to hit the head/neck area or you won't anchor them.

In KY, the largest shot we can use is #4 bird shot.

Wich way did it fly??   :laf: :laf:   They almost always fly in the direction their head is pointed it has worked for me on more than one occasion.... :eyebrownod:

If it was looking at you then that was the side of its head..... :roflmao: :roflmao:

So ya got out despite the weather. I think that rain cloud is covering half the continent. Been raining here for two weeks, all but one day there in the middle.

This wasnt one of Chris's pet Turkeys was it?  :sneer:

Semp I was using #4 high brass in my mossburg 500 12 ga

Al The turkey had its breast straight to me it turned and run with the rest of them

Jim I am on vacation and I had been working on firewood all week and when the rain started yesterday and ended today I knew hitting the HAY FIELD NOT CHRIS' FEEDING SPOT would produce a turkey  :nono:  Now I have no way of knowing if this turkey visits her or not but it sure would have tasted good for the holidays

So was it #4 or BB's.

If it was #4 shot you need to be even closer.  They don't have as much energy as BB's.
