November crows

I'm going out tomorrow AM looking to make some GOOD crows out of LIVE ones!!!!    I sure hope I have some pics for y'all this time!!

Good luck out there HaMeR.  I saw a flock of crows yesterday and I ain't never seen them here this late before.  One of the wierdest weather years I've lived through.

Well as you all know I decided to go after the Black Bandits today. I sat in a tree/brush line between a cut soybean field & a hay field. I was facing the bean field where I have permission. I got setup with 5 decoys, the FX3 & two hand calls. I hand called for a while to no avail. They would call back but not respond. I think it was the fog. So I decided to use the FX3. I can get busier sounds from it. That was the ticket. Now they could locate my setup from the audio. The only other problem was I was by myself & they were coming from every direction. It's tough to bust em when they appear at 30yds out of no where.  I managed to make some GOOD crows out of live ones tho.

Flat??    We're in the outer edges of the Appalachian Mtn's foothills Barry. We have a nice mixture of flat/hilly ground with as much as 900' of elevation change. Here is another pic from out where I groundhog hunt.

The standard crow setup here is set out the e-caller & decoys in a field about 30yds & get hid in the brush real good. We're always shooting thru the trees too. I need to get some pics of the shot angles that are presented some time.

Thanks guys. I doubt there's anything more fun for me than crow hunting. Well,, spring Gobblers I guess.   

That is a purdy nice picture Barry. I'm sure the same pic from the winter is on here too. 


CCP-- That looks like a good place to me. Altho we don't like to setup unless we have at least 100 birds to work. Looks like only about 80 or so there.    And the Date stamp on that pic is  :roflmao: :roflmao:!!

Sounds like a good day Glen....Wish I were there so I could show ya how not to shoot.....   I only hit about 30% last time out but we were in the thick stuff and running and gunning.......but they are starting to flock now.
